Benefits of Working with a Coach

A great loss, the death of a beloved pet or person. A job or promotion loss. Relationship breakups and dashed hopes and dreams. All are changes in your life. Even positive changes come with apprehension and fear of failure that can be overwhelmingly paralyzing.

Intellectually we know that life adjustments are needed, but our inner voice wants to fight it kicking and screaming. We prefer the status quo over change, and it is  “the enemy we know.”

What are the options?

We can dig in our heals and reject the change. What can we expect?

Grief, isolation, and frustration that can ignite depression. Your physical health starts to deteriorate, and relationships personal and professional suffer. Pretty lonely existence.

Let’s say; you are open to making changes, what can you expect? How do you get there?

You can seek advice from a friend as you’ve done in the past, or maybe read a book? How about watching a few online videos? It might help in the short term, but what happens when your motivation begins to waver, and that friend has their issues and less time for yours? And if you’ve been relying on a book or video, there was never any personal support built-in.

What about enlisting the support of a professional?

That inner voice begins to nag at you, “We don’t need help, that’s only for people with serious emotional issues.” Or, shades of self-limiting beliefs, “Who am I to think that I should be happy?” What about pride, “Only the weak seek help.” Or, “It will go away on its own.” Or maybe the worst of all, “Why do I deserve to get professional help to get over my pet, it was just a…”

No, it wasn’t, no, it won’t, and it only gets worse.

We need to realize we can’t do everything ourselves. There’s no shame in seeking someone to bring out the very best in you! Why struggle alone when there is a dedicated professional to:

  • Produce results

  • Hold you accountable

  • Develop, execute and attain your goals

  • Improve performance

  • Enhance the quality of your life

Coaching has grown to be a hugely successful form of talk therapy, to the extent that it has helped turn people's lives around. You deserve your vision of success! What’s holding you back from taking the next steps to having the life you desire?

Pam Baren Kaplan is one of the most kind, caring, and understanding people I have ever met. I honestly do not know what I would do without her as my pet loss grief counselor. When I lost my Zoey I felt like I was literally at my wit's end. Pam has validated what I'm feeling as normal during grief and with her help and guidance I know I will get through this devastating loss. She has been a godsend. I'm so thankful I found her . I lost myself almost exactly 5 years ago. My American Bulldog, Baby Girl, passed in my arms on September 22, 2015.  Someone, probably an angel on Earth, led me to Pam Baren Kaplan on Facebook.  She knows grief and its many elements.  Pam’s soothing voice and calm demeanor helped me to quiet those racing thoughts of pain and breathlessness in my loss.  One breath, one minute, one hour, one day; whatever your heart can handle.  She is there for me.  She taught me to be mindful in my actions, to love myself a little more each day, and that its ok to not be ok sometimes.  Her counsel in grief and pet loss has and continues to be, a message that heals my heart.            Paula A.
